Cha-Cha is Not My Kind of Dance

Posted by Silver on May 13, 2009 in Commentaries and Opinions, Politics |

I bet you have been hearing this in news and blogs that there is a crawling movement for charter change in this country. I am amazed by the idiocy presented by our lawmakers themselves to propose a change in the constitution while the 2010 presidential election draws near.

I am doubting the sincerity and the agenda of this cha-cha. I am no constitutional expert yet I disapprove with this cha-cha movement. My question is, how can they propose changes in the constitution and form of government while they cant even make improvements with their present way of governing? Parang, why asking for change while you cant change yourself naman?

The politics here in our country is hypocrite, populist and downright stupid. These lawmakers have no respect to their true masters – the ones who pay their payroll and the ones they steal money from – THE FILIPINO CITIZENS. Some of them dont serve the interests of their constituents but rather, their only work to satisfy their personal ends.

At makapal pa ang mukha nila na igapang ang cha-cha while deliberately making bastos to our constitution and the citizens. They are even pushing for cha-cha in the unconstitutional way.

If I were them, they should be working on how to improve the social services and governance in this country instead of wasting time formulating political so-so of the cha-cha. Why not try to improve the governance today instead of reforming it? And in the end, what we will get? Another garbage governance again?

Why not try to remove the pork barrel? Why not try to remove corrupt practices? Why not try to improve social services?

Instead of wasting their time for a dance they cant even barely dance with. Do you think that the Philippines is ready for a parliamentary government?

To these lawmakers, sirs and mesdames, try working on what makes your constituents to become better. Try working for their welfare. Baka sakali mas magandang form of governance pa siguro ang working out for their welfare, instead of working for their selfish ends.

And please, spare me from the idea that Gloria Arroyo will become the prime minister if ever. It makes me puke.

that is one way of perpetuating powers.
marcos adopted the parliamentary form of government but unlike in other countries where the PM is the chief executive of the land, the position became a ceremonial head.

the form of the government does not prevent corruption. look at UK and Japan, there were also government officials who were found to be corrupt.

Even a dictatorial government like Mao tze tung saw cosnpirators to perpetuate power. thus his widow and other members of the big four were eliminated after the dictator’s death.

when he was alive, the trusted people lived in mansions that were seized from the rich.

Kasi honestly, there are major flaws on our constitutional system that we, the ordinary people, hardly notice, mainly because we are railroaded by media to look only at the intrigues rather than on the facts and issues involved. The reality is that there really IS a dire need for updating.

The problem, I think, lies on the fact that the promoters of Cha-cha are pushing for change but never talked about what would be the change itself. Such reticence alone brings us to suspect that there is indeed a hidden agenda within this project. Why the eagerness and the big hush, at the same time?

If there will be proper info program regarding Cha-cha, if there will be transparency on it, then I might give it a second look. Let’s not allow them to use our ignorance of the Law to be their tool for personal gain, by informing ourselves of the issue.

Hearing these nimrods talk about this dance is already making me puke. Our government will NEVER show transparency and will NOT listen to the people. Once seated, they do their thing and forget about the people who voted for them.

Kahit ipublish publicly sa papers or mention the critical points sa news.

I believe that we got a good constitution here utoy. What the government missing is the implementation. Madaming loopholes, too much bureaucracy. And look to what some of the congressmen are doing – passing sloppy bills? hindi inaamyendahan ang other laws to suit the needs of the modern times? It seems to me that their priority is to watch boxing matches sa Las Vegas. O di ba? Saan ka pa. Hmpt.

Thank you for the insight Rob.

One of the things that I really hated about it – THEY NEVER LISTENED TO THE PEOPLE.
