Of Political Marriage and Chickens

This is the current term about the merging of two known political parties in the Philippines – the Lakas party made up of Christian- Muslim democrats and the Kampi party. Do note that Lakas is the ruling administration party. Funny though that this so-called political marriage is presided by no other than, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

No matter how flowery or sweet smelling the term is (this so-called political marriage that is), I can still smell the foul odor of self-serving political agendas. Wala naman prinsipyo ang mga nandito sa atin – basta kung sino ang affliated ng ganitong party – as long as the party serve their self-serving political agendas – no problem with them.

Wag na kayo magtaka kung bakit balimbingan sila ng balimbingan. DUH.

The multi-party system here in the Philippines sucks. What used to be a two party system back in the old days of this country where the classical lawmakers can only stick to a party (some of them might have stuck in a party for life!) – they can choose left or right – no gray areas, no sidelines – unfortunately turned into a cookoo of multi-party system.

What used to be a congress and senate composed of either the party from the left or the party from the right turned into a poultry like multi-party system where they are like chuckling like chickens – kanya-kanyang putak. Putak here and there. They are like hens nesting their self-serving political agendas on their congress and senate seats.

Not to mention, baling-bingan here and there. No solid principles for them.

It creates a lot of background noise – A LOT OF NONSENSE FILIBUSTERING on the floor where the real issues of the day became forgotten and are not properly addressed. And here comes more of the parties – some of them allegedly push the agendas of balot vendors daw kuno and another party headed by a questionable military man turned politician – with issues stemming from alleged human rights violations during his military days.

And there are times it gets more ironic – where are our dear lawmakers? Try to watch a single session in the congress and see a lot of EMPTY SEATS. You will get demoralized and think: Is these the lawmakers I voted for? Where the heck are they?

Yes, my dear common Juan – you have the right to question because you pay taxes for their salaries.

Oh I wish the Philippines would go back to the 2 party system. It will simplify the system and avoid confusion among the citizens. I hate chickens chuckling here and there. It will get us to nowhere.
