Customer Service – Cannot Be
Usually, customer service is emphasized in most businesses in order to keep their patrons coming back for their products and services. However, there are times that some people forget the simple philosophy of customer service – simple interaction, aasikasuhin ang customer etc.

Unfortunately, to my big disappointment – I did not experienced any customer service values from a salon in our humble pueblo. Clue: that salon is already a franchise type and its name is only a single letter – a letter before G. That’s *letter* Salon.
I just came from the church because I opted to get my horns filed early in the morning and I also took an early appointment with God and his apostles. I have been consulting San Pedro for my horn filing and sometimes nag me for my temper. My guardian archangel Barachiel always emphasize to me the importance of patience. And yes, another nag for my outrageous temper. O ayan, dalawa na ang nagthetherapy sa akin tuwing linggo.
Back to the Salon – I entered early at it seemed that I am the only customer around. The parloristang bading asked me what service I want. I said, “Just a haircut…” I am not the type of gal na makikay. I am better described as some sort of a cowgirl or a Calamity Jane perhaps.
Hindi ako makikay. I am plain and simple in person. I dont wear designer clothes or any fads in fashion. Hindi din ako masyadong pagurl. I am the wash and wear gal. As long as I wear clean clothes and I am comfortable with, go lang ako. I prefer jeans and shirt lang most of the time but when the occassion calls for some formal attire, I am not hesitant naman to wear formal or business attires naman.
The parloristang bading told me to wait till 9am. Okay fine. I just grabbed a golfing magazine and started the perusal. Then a few minutes more e tinawag na ako ng isa pang parloristang bading na itago natin sa ngalan na Ely. I dropped the magazine and went to his chair. When he asked me what kind of cut do I want to have, I just mentioned layered and follow the pattern of my hair na lang. Maikli lang naman ang buhok ko kaya I bet hindi naman siya mahihirapan nun.
So the cut went on and blah blah. Then he asked me kung tatabasin ba sa may parting tenga ko. I kinda thought about it kasi naiinitan nga ako these past few days kaya I said yes. Ilabas na lang kako ang tenga.
And to my shock, Ely replied: “Eh di na ito ang usual pattern ng hair mo…sabi mo kanina na same pattern pa rin”. With matching irap.
Nagtaka ako kasi baket naman nagtataray ang baklitang ito. E kung sa gusto kong ipatabas na lang ang banda sa may tenga ko, may magagawa ba siya?
Nagtaka ako kung baket nagmasungit ang baklitang ito. Ang talim na ng tingin sa akin. Ayaw na ata akong serbisyuhan. Good thing that during those times, e naka-off ang temper ko. As in kalmado lang ako at wala sa mood na pumatol sa baklita na ito.
Then the cut was over and as I try to remove the cover, sinungitan na naman ako na: “Wag mo muna tanggalin yan!”
Again, mabuti na lang at bagong tabas ako ng sungay dahil kung hindi e nasuwag ko na ang isang ito. Pasalamat siya at kaka-konsulta ko lang kay San Pedro at Barachiel. I noticed the entrance of two new customers, mukhang mag-ina at magpaparebond.
The gloomy atmosphere of the salon turned into a festive one – parang galak silang makita ang customer na yun at parang dismayado sila sa pagserbisyo sa akin. Halatang they are after the higher charging services like rebonding.
I told you before that I am not a kikay person. And heck, I have a short hair like Leila Barros, ipaparebond ko pa ba yun? Common sense nga. Earlier, the receptionist offered me foot spa and pedicure but I dont like to. Ayaw kong ipa-pedicure ang paa ko sa ibang tao. That is how sensitive I am. Wala pa man ding insurance for dead nails.
Ely, the masungit na parloristang bading, gave the receipt – basta-basta na lang inabot. Parang galit pa.
Sus ginuu, buti na lang santo pa ako that time at bagong hasa ang aking horns. Or else, yari ang baklitang ito sa akin.
I went out of the salon and Ely joined the festive atmosphere around the two customers who want their long hair rebonded.
What a kind of customer service. Until I got home, I learned from my mom na ganun pala ang mga bading dun sa *letter* Salon na yun. Pinipili nila ang mga customers na mag-aavail ng rebond etc. Then yun ang serserbisyuhan nila ng maayos, as in ngiting aso talaga sa iyo. Pero wag ka, pag pa-haircut ka lang e grabe kung matarayan ka.
Do you know how much the haircut cost? 40 pesos while the rebond nung dalawang customers totalled to 5,000 pesos (that also includes other services as well)
Oh well, nakatyempo ako ng parlor na palpak ang customer service porket 40 pesos lang ang babayaran mo. Pahiram nga ng term from The Cat – TSEH.
Pasalamat ang Ely na yun, malameg pa ang ulo ko that time. Or else… bwahahhaha….
I think, lipat na lang ako sa ibang pagupitan next time.

number 1 rule: pakisamahan ang kostomer, pag may hindi ayon sabihin ng maayos kasi karapatan din iyun ng parlorista/tindera.
pero pag ganun ugali, sapak sakin yun. wag ka na bumalik dun!
pero maganda din yung ginawa mo na chill ka lang kasi mas papaboran ka ng Diyos…

Morning!
Hay naku silver. discriminatory ang treatment ng lelang na bading. Ganyan talaga sila kapag simple lang ang dating mo, tapos gupit lang din ipapagawa mo, so-so lang treatment sa’yo. Pero kapag tipon sosyalera ka, mukhang ma-anda hay naku ‘di lang isa ang mageentertain sau.
Mahirap din naman kung magtaray ka habang ginugupitan ka baka di ayusin ang gupit sau. Ok na ung nagpa-cool ka lang. ‘Lam mo makakahanap din ng katapat ang mga ganyan.
