TS Ondoy Update: Call for Used Clothes, Food and Funds (Sta. Lucia, Novaliches)

Posted by Silver on Sep 28, 2009 in Barrio Siete, Special Requests / Notices |

My blog-friend of mine, Captain Jepoy who blogs at Captain’s Log emailed me today about the plight of the people in Barangay Sta. Lucia in Novaliches, Quezon City. It so happens that Lalaine’s aunt – their home and everything else (Lalaine is connected to Jepoy) was washed away by the same deluge that affected thousands of our kababayans in the Metro. Here is a picture of the devastating scenario of their location there:

The family did not have anything left. Not even clothes. Here are more details coming from Jepoy’s email:

Contact: Lalaine Orozco or Marlen Orozco
Address: B11 L32-34 Sunset Ave. Northwind Subdivision, Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City, 1121.
Number: 0922-7474398

Mas kailangan ng mga tao dun ng tulong, lalo na siguro eh funds or materials pampagawa ng mga bahay nila.

Peeps, if you have used clothes, food stuff (non-perishable or yung mga de-lata para di mabilis mapanis) and funds to help these people in Novaliches. I know some parts of Novaliches are like converging waterbowls – low lying areas that are high risk to floods such as the ones brought by tropical storm Ondoy. I have relatives too in Novaliches, particularly in the Olympus Village area, adjacent to St. Bernadette’s Hospital. I have not received any news about them – whatever happened to them or what. My family already texted them but there are no response from them yet. If you are from that area, please feel free to leave an update in this post. Medyo kinakabahan na din ako for them. :(

Anyway, you can contact Jepoy through his blog at Captain’s Log in regards to the details about the donation (used clothes and food stuff, not to mention funds needed by these people. You can also refer to the contact details of Lalaine and her family Its time to do bayanihan peeps. Umpisahan na natin ngayong araw na ito.

P.S.  Reyna Elena is also requesting information from East Ortigas kung ano na ang nangyari dun. Here’s a snippet from her post:

EAST ORTIGAS, LIFE HOMES, DE CASTRO, MARIETTA ROMERO UPDATE

If anyone of you knows what’s going on in East Ortigas. That’s where I live and I cannot contact anyone. Not even relatives dun sa LIFE HOMES or DE CASTRO. We have no news how high the flood was or how are the units in East Ortigas or if there was an evacuation, kung saan dinala. I am just truly nervous since kahapon pa.

If you have updates about that location, feel free to leave a comment in this post or in Barrio Siete. Thanks!
