Showtime Suspended by MTRCB

Posted by Silver on Jan 12, 2010 in Commentaries and Opinions, News, Showbiz and Entertainment |

In my previous post in Barrio Siete where I reacted strongly against the comment of Rosanna Roces against teachers, I made it to a point that there may be teachers who are so pasaway, but there are a hell lot of teachers that do good in their noble jobs and do their best in teaching the new generations today.

Yesterday, I learned that the noontime show, Showtime (where Osang was a judge there during the awful incident), was suspended by the MTRCB for 20 days, citing the nasty remark that Osang made against the teachers.

Osang said during the show:

Oo, dahil ang mga teachers, they were just repeaters.

Hanapin mo. I-wikipedia mo, malalaman mo.”

The MTRCB issued a preventive suspension in the show because of the grave remark made by Osang. Knowing for a fact that the show itself caters to the younger audiences and present young performers as well, it is really disturbing to hear a comment coming from a undereducated person. InĀ  another aspect, the 20 day suspension is too much for the show. Osang’s comment are solely hers, not of the show. It would be much better if the actress herself will be banned from doing projects in the showbiz. Why? Puro bold movies, made up -- delusional stories, bad attitude and now, bad remarks against the teachers.

Rosanna should remember that being in the public spotlight requires a bit of being a role model. The problem is, she never became a role model for the public. Pray tell me, can you cite any good from these actress? Nada. Not a single thing in my memory.

So who the hell is she to say that TEACHERS ARE JUST REPEATERS??? She’s not even an authority in Philippine History. I hope she learns the lesson of shutting her mouth properly and think before speaking up.

Siguro, kung nagdagdag pa siya ng comment against the teachers, I dare her to become a teacher herself and teach children who live in the far corners of this country -- yung tipong tumatawid pa ng ilang ilog at bundok para lang maturuan ang mga bata -- nang matikman nya ang hirap ng pagtuturo and at the same time, kainin nya ang mga sinasabi nya against the teachers.

The system of our education here may not be par with the other countries. We may have teachers na somehow, pasaway din. But we got a huge majority of teachers who have the passion to teach the younger generations and engage tirelessly in molding the younger citizens of this country. In the comment thread of my post, I replied to a commentator:

Education is not a one way process, it is a dynamic and multi-level one.

Here are the videos showing the awful remarks of Rosanna Roces:

Again, Showtime should not be suspended, dapat si OSANG ANG DAPAT MA-BAN FROM SHOWBIZ!

    Silver’s Note:

Sorry guys, have to remove your link since promoting hatred towards another person is way too much. Tama na yung naiere ko ang aking opinion about the issue. That’s already enough for me. I dont engage in hatred mudslinging, unless the person is my mortal enemy. LOL.

Wala ding mangyayari sa hate. Hate pa rin yan in the end. Yah know, unproductive ang hate.

the decision of mtrcb is so disappointing. meanwhile, i will continue to patronise showtime because i think it’s a very entertaining show minus the melodrama and arrogance of that other noontime show.

Well, yeah Mel. Given the entertainment factor ng Showtime, yes, I do disagree with MTRCB. The comments made by Osang are solely hers. Kawawa naman yung production crew na nagtratrabaho ng maayos behind the show, then sila ang naging casualty sa kataklesahan ni Osang.

But anyway, nangyari na nga. Ayan na. Nagreact na ang MTRCB.

    silver,

Hehhehe.

Anyway, on some point may kapabayaan din ang Showtime. Pero I still dont agree with the 20 day suspension. A fine and written warning from MTRCB could have done it better. Kawawa naman ang production crew. Walang trabaho, walang sweldo.
